HERITAGE PARK
WATERWAYS AND PARKS - www.heritageprk.com
The natural beauty of this 200 hectare estate has been retained or enhanced at every step of the way during the development. Beautification, landscaping and tree planting has been a priority for George Hazelden Properties who have set aside large amounts of money for this purpose.
Throughout the town there are several clear mountain streams which have been left
to provide a major feature for the town. In the centre of Heritage Park a
dam has been stocked with trout and hundreds of water birds have adopted
the lake as their sanctuary.
At the entrance to Somerset West Business Park, another perennial stream has been used to create an attractive one acre dam and the run off continues its course under the N2 highway and down to the sea. Existing woodlands and some vines will remain to give the new town a mature feel and many areas of green space and parkland are incorporated in the plans.
Added to the beauty of the immediate surroundings is the vast and stunning
views of blue tinged mountains with wine farms nestling into their
folds and the soft golden beaches of False Bay only a few kilometres away.
